Welcome to the Squawk Aviation Photos community forum. These rules keep the forum friendly, on-topic, and useful for everyone — from first-time spotters to seasoned photographers. By posting here you agree to follow them. They apply to threads, replies, signatures, profiles, and private messages.
1. Be respectful
- Treat other members with courtesy. Disagree with ideas, not people.
- No harassment, personal attacks, hate speech, or discrimination of any kind.
- No trolling, baiting, or deliberately derailing discussions.
2. Stay on topic
- This is an aviation community — keep discussion related to aircraft, photography, spotting, and the hobby.
- Post in the most appropriate section, and search before starting a new thread to avoid duplicates.
- Keep politics, religion, and other off-topic debates out of the forum.
3. Photos and copyright
- Only post images you took yourself or have permission to share. Never repost someone else's work without credit and consent.
- Don't hotlink or claim others' photos as your own.
- Photos shared in the forum are still expected to be tasteful and relevant. Submissions to the main gallery are covered separately by our Screening Guidelines.
4. No spam or advertising
- No unsolicited advertising, referral links, or self-promotion without permission from the moderators.
- No repetitive posting, link farming, or off-topic commercial content.
5. Keep it clean and legal
- No NSFW, obscene, violent, or otherwise inappropriate material.
- No illegal content, or content that encourages illegal activity.
- Do not post images taken from restricted airside areas or anything that could compromise aviation or airport security.
6. Privacy and safety
- Don't share anyone's personal information — including your own home address, contact details, or anything you wouldn't want made public.
- Do not impersonate other members, staff, or organisations.
7. Accounts
- One account per person. Don't share accounts or create duplicates to evade moderation.
- You are responsible for everything posted from your account.
8. Moderation and enforcement
Moderators may edit, move, or remove posts and threads that breach these rules. Depending on the severity, breaches may result in a warning, a temporary forum suspension, or a permanent ban. You will be notified by email when a suspension is applied, along with the reason and duration.
If you believe a moderation decision was made in error, you may contact the moderation team to ask for it to be reviewed. Moderators' decisions are final on matters not clearly covered by these rules.
These rules may be updated from time to time. Members are expected to keep up to date with the current version.
